Peach stripped anglaise, 1780's

This is definitely one of my favorite dress. I made this one especially for a trip at Versailles, even tho that didn't go well. Anyway, the dress is made of a beautiful peach/green/red/creme stripped silk taffeta from LA (but you can get this fabric on renaissancefabrics), the underskirt and the sash is made from a reddish silk that matches the red strip. It is based on Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 1. I admit the back en fourreau made me go crazy for few hours while working on it, but I L-O-V-E how the pleats turned out, especially when it's a bit windy outside, the skirt goes crazy poufff. I love poufffy stuff. 40% machine, 60% by hand. I need more pictures of that one.
