Globe Theatre

On one of my trips to London, I visited the Globe Theatre, a magnificent reconstitution of Shakespeare's theater as it would have been in the 1500-1600's. Since I am a absolute fan of the Tudor and Elizabethan era, I was delighted to find out that they were exhibiting some of the costumes made for the plays, I guess they used to have some most of the time. Those costumes are beautiful reconstitutions of the english fashions of that period.

The Queen Elizabeth I dress is amazing! I an planning on a similar project since I love her so much. As funny as it seems, when I was a kid I decided that Queen Elizabeth I and Scarlett O'Hara were my two role models. That may explain how I turned out!

On that visit, I also learned that pregnant women's urine was used to clean clothes... yeah for laundry detergent?
